VIRTUAL SOUP COOK-OFF
COVID and cold weather combine to give you a good reason for staying inside
this month. So to pass the time, and since we can have our annual January
Soup Cook-Off, let’s do a “Virtual Cook-Off”.
Simmer up one or more of your favorite soup recipes, take a picture, and send
the picture, with the recipe, to holyfamilycahokia@yahoo.com, or drop it off in
the mail slot of the rectory, or even give to one of the ushers at Mass and ask
that they pass it along. If you won with that recipe in previous years, or have
a family story to go with it that you would like to share, send in the date that
you won and/or the story behind it.
Entries will be posted on our Facebook page and our website,
holyfamily1699.org, and printed out and placed on the table in the back of the
church. Other parishioners can follow the recipe and do a taste test, or just
do a “virtual smell and taste” by reading the recipe. Enter as many recipes as
you wish. Entries are due by 5 p.m. on Monday, January 24th and will be
published on Sunday 31st. Ballots are due by Tuesday, February 9th and
winners will be announced in the Sunday, February 14th bulletin, Facebook
and website.
Have some fun, some good food, warm up, and bring some light to this
typically dreary, cold, month.
